Kizomba Flavours vs. Kizomba Fusion: What's the Difference This August?

Two Kizomba tracks run across this August's intensive at Sukha Yoga & Wellness — one on Saturday, one on Sunday, both Improver–Intermediate level. Here's what actually separates them.

Kizomba Flavours: Saturdays, 5–6 PM

The soulful, traditional core of Kizomba — deep connection, grounded weight transfer, and the subtle conversation between lead and follow. This track explores the foundational flavours of traditional Kizomba: walking, tarraxinha-inspired micro-movements, and musicality. You leave with a stronger frame, cleaner timing, and the confidence to dance comfortably in any social setting.

Kizomba Fusion: Sundays, 4–5 PM

A more modern take — blending the traditional language with Urban Kiz textures, ginga-style musical play, and creative pauses. This track expands your kizomba vocabulary while keeping connection at the heart of every step, ideal if you want to break out of routine patterns and feel the music more freely.

Which Should You Choose?

  • If you want to deepen your fundamentals — connection, timing, traditional musicality — start with Kizomba Flavours

  • If you already have a base and want more textured, contemporary vocabulary — go for Kizomba Fusion

  • Since they run on different days (Saturday vs. Sunday), doing both across the four weekends is straightforward

The Bigger Picture

Both tracks are part of the Salsa Madras 12th Anniversary Training Intensive with Arun — four weekends, 15 August through 6 September, at Sukha Yoga & Wellness Studio, 65 Greenways Rd, Bishop Garden, RA Puram, Chennai.
